South Dakota Disc Golf

A network for South Dakota disc golf

Hello all,

Brady Laue and Trevor Boehne will be hosting the Southern Minnesota Spring Shootout on Saturday March 30, 2013 at Adrian Disc Golf Course.

There are a lot of disc golf courses in Southern Minnesota that don't get the chance to see a lot of tournament action. We have been trying to change that a little bit at a time. Last year we hosted a spring tournament in Adrian and a fall tournament in Springfield. It was the first PDGA sanctioned tournament at each location. Although we will continue to hold tournaments at new courses around the area, we had such a great time in Adrian (and they got new teepads!), that we decided to come back again.

Come down to Adrian Disc Golf Course and get the disc golf season started out right, with a great tournament at a great course. We will be playing two rounds of 18 holes. Please come check it out and support some of the courses around the South Zone!

This tournament is run in connection with the Cedar Creek Open A-tier in August. All funny money proceeds from this event will be put directly into the prize pool for the CCO! That does not mean this tournament’s payouts will suffer. It will be a fantastic event run by the CCO staff with your standard 100% payouts. The only thing that is different is that the “vendor” will not be making ANY money. It will all go to CCO. So come out and play a fun tournament while helping to make a great event even better.

Just posting a requested update on the course conditions at Adrian.  Samson and I played at Adrian today and the course is mostly devoid of snow.  Also all of the teepads are clear of snow and ice however they are surrounded by mud almost all of them.  Hole 18 has a tee pad for the long position on the mound, which is a bonus. I would be surprised if there was any snow left on the course by tournament time barring any new accumulations. The new tee pads are kind of short, maybe 4'x8' at the most, but you don't need large tee pads there. With the mud around the tees and how they are pretty short the tees are make sure you have your run ups cut to a few steps! haha.

Over all very excited for the first sanctioned tournament of the year!  Lets make it great and have lots of fun!  Let my know if there is anything I can do to help as well to make everything run smoothly.

Hey everyone! The Southern MN Spring Shootout is just a couple days away!!

I spoke with Paul Ulibarri today, and it looks like he will be joining us for the tournament. If the weather is decent, he will be doing a putting clinic after the tournament for anyone who is interested. He will also have his stash of Prodigy discs to sell.

This may be one of your best chances to play with (and learn from) one of the world's top pros. For those of you outside the Twin Cities disc golf shops, it may also be one of your first opportunities to get your hands on some of the new Prodigy discs. So come play the Southern MN Spring Shootout. You know you want to.

Looking forward to this one tomorrow, Adrian has a nice layout and really looking forward to seeing Ulibarri. Hopefully it stays dry!

"I did the tees and signage. It isn't top notch stuff but it is easier to find your way around the course. I have maps w/scorecards hanging at the Res shelter or download a map on my SDDGA profile. Everything is color coded, (yellow for Reg…"
